Dairy-Free Blueberry Protein Smoothie

Dairy-Free Blueberry Protein Smoothie

A dairy-free protein smoothie built for recovery — 33g of complete protein, real fruit, and zero whey. Ready in under two minutes.

Plain egg white protein is the blank canvas: no added flavours, no sweeteners, no fat. It lets the vanilla coconut yoghurt and fresh blueberries do the talking, while quietly delivering the highest protein hit in our range. If you want a shake that tastes like a real smoothie — not a supplement — this is the one.

No dairy. No added sugar. No shortcuts.

Why this smoothie works

  • 33g of complete protein per serve — all 9 essential amino acids, naturally high in leucine for muscle repair
  • Zero fat and zero carbs from the powder — Plain is 99% pure egg white, letting you control the macros through what you add
  • Dairy-free and lactose-free — easier on the stomach than whey, ideal if you're keto, paleo or dairy-sensitive
  • Electrolyte hit from coconut water — potassium, magnesium and sodium to rehydrate after training
  • Real antioxidants from whole frozen blueberries, not flavourings
  • Around 320 calories per serve — meal-sized without being a meal

Ingredients (serves 1)

Method

  1. Add the coconut water to your blender first — this gives the powder something to dissolve into and prevents clumping.
  2. Add the plain egg white protein powder, vanilla coconut yoghurt and frozen blueberries.
  3. Blend on high for 30–45 seconds until smooth and creamy.
  4. Pour into a glass and drink immediately — best cold, straight after training.

Tip: If you prefer a thicker, ice-cream-style smoothie, drop the coconut water to 100ml and add a handful of ice. If you want it thinner, add another 50ml of coconut water.

Macros per serve

Energy 1,335 kJ (320 cal)
Protein 33.3g
Carbohydrate 28.4g
— Sugars 22.1g
Fat, total 6.9g

Macros are indicative and vary slightly based on brand of coconut yoghurt and blueberry size. Cocobella Protein Vanilla accounts for most of the saturated fat — swap to a lower-fat coconut yoghurt if you want to bring that down further.

Variations

  • Even lower calorie: Skip the yoghurt entirely — drops the shake to ~215 cal and 1g of saturated fat while keeping 28g of protein.
  • Vanilla-forward: Swap Plain for Vanilla Egg White Protein Powder for a more dessert-like shake (drops protein to ~27g, adds a bit of fat).
  • Chocolate-berry: Use Chocolate Egg White Protein Powder with raspberries instead of blueberries.
  • Bigger post-workout meal: Add ½ a banana for an extra 60 cal, 14g of fast carbs and a smoother texture.

Why egg white protein for smoothies?

Whey works, but it's not for everyone. If dairy leaves you bloated, or you're training on a keto or paleo diet, egg white protein delivers the same complete amino acid profile without the lactose. It blends clean, mixes without clumping, and doesn't leave the chalky aftertaste you get from some plant proteins.

Every scoop is pasteurised for safety, sourced from cage-free Australian eggs, and formulated by a food technologist and career chef. That's the standard we hold every batch to.
